A reflective interview with a young person exploring their thoughts around outdoors spaces in their local community as part of the CONTINUE & Longford Park City of Trees projects.

um, So where you live? Are there any outdoor spaces that you, um, access or where you think there's anything that could be improved? Or there would be if they made some changes, people would use it more and better utilise it. Big field. Is there anything on the big field? And is it used more when there's a fair? Why do you think that? So if that big field, if you could put something on that big field to encourage people to use it, what might you put on there? Mhm. Mhm

If you think about open spaces that you would access or if you know about open spaces, just if there was something that you would use a space for or that you would go to and it was outside, what would you? What sort of things would attract you to go in there? Hm? Like physical things. Yeah. Like what? So I'm assuming you wouldn't go across to the field to go for a walk

So what? Things would tempt you to go across to that field. What activities are things would be happening on that field for you to go across some sports sports trampoline. Yeah, that'd be cool

Some sports. So there's the field across. Is do you do anything outdoors and go or go anywhere? That's an outdoor space

Not really. No. If you were ever to go

So they do, um, like outdoor cinemas and stuff like that. Would you, um, would you go to one of them? Or do you think you'd prefer to go to a traditional inside cinema if there was one? Some places do them, um, on the field. So they have, like, a big screen up

And you just take a picnic or a couple of benches or whatever you want to take with you and you sit and they put a screen in on Would you be up for going to something like that? Yeah. Would it have to be a certain genre of film? Just anything. You guys are gonna go? Um, What's the name? What about a kid with me? Sounds a bit when you've got your friend's child

When you're looking after your friend's child. Yeah. And so do you think then that outdoor spaces are targeted at kids rather than at teenagers or adults? And what do you think would change that? Choose the most of that was gonna do

Yeah, or do you think that adults could do what the kids can do, but they just get a bit too sort of, um, embarrassed about doing it as you get older. So maybe you would need, like, specific adult slots. We put some more stuff for the kids to do that adults can do as well

Yeah, Yeah, that'd be cool. I remember that or something. I don't know

Right. Thank you very much.
