A young person talks about how missing out on school and the social interactions they usually depend on affected their life and mental health.

What was your experience with COVID? My experience with Covid was good and bad at the same time. Because at the start of covid, when lockdown was about to happen, I was really excited because we got to miss school and we got to stay in bed all the time. Watch some Netflix, you know. But then, as time got by, um, covid got worse and we had to stay in lockdown longer and then that I got bored and yeah, didn't really like it when it got too long

How did it affect your school life? Um well, I didn't do much work in lockdown because I just didn't have the motivation to do it. But and then when I got back to school, I just forgot a lot of things that I had done before. And then yeah, I would say that I'm going down a bit, but I'm trying to build myself back up

How did it affect your mental health? Um, I would say that being at home all the time did affect my mental health because I didn't have the people that I was with at school or my friends to talk to and to have a good laugh with, Like, I did have my family there, but I just needed someone else to be there, too, to actually talk to. But other than that, it wasn't too bad. How did it affect your relationship with your family? Um, I'd say that it we didn't I wouldn't say we got closer, but I feel like we got more apart because there's a lot of, like, fallouts all the time because we was, like, with each other for too long

And I was like, in my room most of the time, because I just didn't want to see my family some of the sometimes, but yeah..
