The Manchester Homelessness charter is about organisations and committed individuals coming together and taking action to end homelessness in Manchester.

On May the 9th I attended the Manchester Homelessness Charter event, I was able to hear from people who are experiencing homelessness at the moment, their stories and their hopes for the future. We also got to hear from organisations and the pledges they are making towards ending homelessness in Manchester. It was inspiring to see people from all different walks of life coming together to support the cause.

Many positive steps have been taken. People with experience of homelessness are having their voices heard. The Charter has been co-written by people who have experienced homelessness and Manchester City Council have made a pledge to make sure that people with experience of homelessness are involved in the decisions about homelessness services. You can see pledges other organisations and individuals have made, make a pledge yourself and find out more information about the Manchester Homelessness Charter at http://streetsupport.net
