Hana hopes to afford a house, have a decent job, and enjoy financial stability to afford necessities and occasional treats like travel. She fears job-related stress, financial instability, and not having enough time or money for personal enjoyment and travel. Hana is aware of the housing crisis and acknowledges the difficulty her generation faces in buying homes compared to previous generations. She aspires to have a stable, well-paying job in graphic design and advocates for more youth involvement in decision-making processes. Despite her financial concerns, she values living in the moment and creating memories.
This story was gathered by a youth advocate from the Equality Trust as part of a project called Reconstructing the Social Contract. 10 young people trained as community reporters and spoke to people aged between 16 and 25 in the United Kingdom to explore what impacts young people's life chances and their relationship with the state.
