Community reporting is important for numerous reasons.

Firstly, getting involved within the local area and interacting with people within their local communities is beneficial to everyone involved. You get to meet new people and make friends within the community.

Community reporting also helps get the full story heard, not just the 'interesting' bit in the middle! Getting the full picture, from start to finish, is the real goal of community reporting.

The main reason why I believe community reporting is important is that it gives people the opportunity to get their voices heard and stories out there.

People from all different backgrounds can easily get involved and either tell their own stories and help other spread theirs. I plan to use community reporting to help others tell their stories, as well as spreading the messages of my own community, including those found in my local area, from students and from the work I undertake with the lovely Opportunities and The Union MMU team!
