Benjamin shares his desire to be successful- not have money worries and be in a position to have a family, manage a business well, have a good circle of friends. Experiencing difficulties with time management due to number of things going on (to make money and pay for essentials) but this young person finds a way. Doesn't think the government is supportive enough- cost of living crisis has an impact on everyone, taxes are quite high (believes in paying taxes though). Has a brother who is a politician but still woildn't vote as isn't educated to go this, but does argue there's a need a broader political education on areas such a global warning as young people aren't aware/ dont' care.
This story was gathered by a youth advocate from the Equality Trust as part of a project called Reconstructing the Social Contract. 10 young people trained as community reporters and spoke to people aged between 16 and 25 in the United Kingdom to explore what impacts young people's life chances and their relationship with the state.
