It's the matter of reading. What one, or this one reads.
Will I read another novel?
Regardless of the provocation I wonder when or if I'll read a novel.
Once I loved, adored them: Steinbeck; this other, boy! no better escape or adventure. Couriousish but no interest at all whatever. Such a total contrast; I wouldn't have envisaged it.
What I read? Non-fiction I need for some specific reason. Pleasure-reading for me are those works - more numerous than I'd imagined: 1000 Amazing Facts You Didn't Know You Never Knew. Enthralling they are.. I easily resist the temptation to quote some of this at you though I recall I brought one such book to Identity one week - enjoyed the facilitator going through it reading us bits!!! (Only for a little bit, one and all; rest of the time he was earning his fee per the laid down procedure. Got that in)
Poetry yes. The greatest of everything. Don't read it. Listen to it. Would travel a long way to hear it too.
When I listen to poetry that's read, 10% of it I like, the rest Not. Let's be kind. In Poetry is everything one needs.
There's one person - Victor Gollancz - lover of music, said surprisingly he never listened to recorded music. Only concerts for him. That brassy Russian stuff hearing live I can understand the diff live/recorded. Anyway that was his thing Mr Gollancz.
Used to read poetry. Love it live. Five hundred miles of travelling for one minutes worth of good stuff - worth it.
Don't you just love Pontificators. Bye for now
