Trek the Himalayas

Trek
the Himalayas is a unique opportunity to join the first ever trek run
exclusively for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust. This challenge includes five
days of trekking through the Himalayas. You will visit the Dalai Lama’s
Monastery in Dharamsala and take a trip to the Taj Mahal*! 

Your Trek the Himalayas itinerary

Day 1 - An evening flight from London to Dehli, India.

Day 2 - Arrival in Dehli and overnight transfer to Pathankot via a sleeper train.

Day 3 - Pathankot to Dharamsala - a chance to visit the Dalai Lama's monastery.

Day 4 - Mcleod Gank (Dharamsala) to Kareri (2050 m).

Trekking 7-8 hours, approx.13km.

Day 5 - Kareri to Bahl Village (2300m). Camping overnight.

Trekking 7-8 hours, approx. 13km.

Day 6 - Bahl to Triund (2975m). Camping overnight.

Trekking 6-7 hours, approx. 10km.

Day 7 - Triund to Laka Got (3500m) returning to Triund to camp overnight.

Trekking 6-7 hours, approx. 10km.

Day 8 - Triund to Mcleod Ganj (Dharamsala) via Laheta

The final stretch, trekking 6-7 hours, approx. 12 km.

Day 9 - Dharamsala - free time and a chance to visit the Tibetan Cultural Art Centre.

Transfer back to Pathankot overnight.

Day 10 - Delhi - a chance to visit the Taj Mahal in Agra.

Day 11 - Depart Delhi and travel back to London.

Who can take part on our trek?

Anyone over the age of 18 years old is welcome to come along but you
will need to be prepared to do some training to make sure your fitness
levels are the best they can be prior to the event. We'll make sure you
have a set of training guidelines to help you prepare.

Accommodation

We'll be camping for 4 nights, 2 nights will be in hotels and a further 2 nights on air conditioned sleeper trains.

Raising sponsorship money

By agreeing to take part in the trek we will ask you to raise a minimum
sponsorship of £3,250 and there will also be a non-refundable £250
deposit.

Once you have registered you will be sent an information pack full of
ideas and our team will be there throughout to support you in your
fundraising.
