A hospital appointment today provided an unusual treat. Manchester's Wythenshawe Hospital now hosts a lovely miniature market once a month, presumably on the first Friday. Situated in an outside bay, near the League of Friends cafe, and just off the corridor from the Main Entrance, is a cluster of market stalls, just ripe for the browsing.

From delightful cupcakes; wonderfully different home-made pies, breads and chutneys; an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables; pretty jewellery; to takeaway live bees, there is something to interest everyone!

The independent traders are charming and chatty, offering tastes of their wares with a smile.

Compliments to Wythenshawe Hospital for a lovely idea to brighten any outpatient visit or distract from unpleasant medical experiences.
