When I'm in the mood for it, i love hearing people nattering on the bus. There is a college near where I live and now the schools are back, there are a lot of school children on my daily commute to work.
I never thought I would be so fascinated to hear girls gossiping about boys. I remember as a teenager always wondering wht girls talked about in groups, and now as an adult, I can listen in while we share space on the 38 heading towards Manchester.
Sometimes, when I'm being really nosey, I like to see if I can read what people are texting on their phone. The other day I was sat next to a man who was having a Whatsapp conversation. He was using a lot of slang and things were getting flirty. Emoticons of winks and hearts were being flung around like they were going out of fashion. The person on the end of this conversation was flirting back. Then out of the blue he typed 'so are you ok to be my maths tutor?' to which the the person replied 'of course'. WHAT!? THIS WAS A POTENTIAL TUTOR???
I don't think Mr Howard and I would have had the same sort of conversation when I was studying...
