The attached photo is of Adam who is part of the Homeless Group who have set up in St Peters Square Manchester.
Adam informed the crowd gathered in Piccadilly Gardens that the group had been served with their second set of eviction papers.
It was fairly ironic that the Police Officer who would lead on the eviction was also present in Piccadilly Gardens.
We were told that the homeless group had other locations that they were considering decamping to if evicted and then the process would presumably start all over again. It seems a shame that all the effort put into evicting the homeless camp could not be put into finding them permanent homes.
As might be expected Adam received the support of the crowd gathered, and a number of subsequent speakers offered their support.
Reports in other areas of the press, media have commented on the fact that St Peters Square is being used and just around the corner is the site of the St Peters Massacre , a certain sense of history repeating itself with respect to those in need.
