Ever tried running a plant stall and filming the Olympic torch relay at the same time? It's not something that you'd want to attempt every weekend, but interesting all the same. Growing Newsome had to send for reinforcements to mind the shop whilst some of our growers abandonned our plant stall at Huddersfield Open Market to nip over to nearby St. George's Square to see the Olympic flame. We caught a glimpse of Newsome Scout Rob Morris bringing the flame into the Square and handing it over to Rebecca Kane (who opened our special indoor carnival at Berry Brow the day before). Meanwhile, I went to help fellow community reporter Christine to capture the day's special events on film. When I finally got back to our plants, someone on a nearby stall handed me a leftover bun, iced in the shape of the Olympic flame. A perfect end to a very hectic day.
