Health is an everyday news item. We are encouraged to take care of our health by eating five -a -day of fresh fruit and vegetables and cutting down on less health foods. Good health is linked to a feeling of wellbeing both mentally and physically. So, how can we stay healthy? One way to look after our health is to exercise. Last Thursday I went for a walk with my husband. We didn't plan a route or how far we would walk, we just set off. After we'd walked through some of the nearby streets we wandered down the main road towards town. As we got near to Whitworth Art Gallery on Oxford Road, we took a detour into the building to see what was new. The Whitworth had been closed for several months while it underwent major refurbishments. Inside we found the new layout really open which allows you to walk around at your own pace and enjoy the lovely setting and artwork. We viewed an installation that had a pool of water at the centre of the room. Around the walls was the most amazing artwork created using precise gunpowder explosions. We spent about an hour walking around the gallery. So, we set out to go for a walk to keep physically fit then also kept our minds occupied by spending time in the art gallery. It was well worth the visit.
