A mum talks about how much her and her family enjoy the park, frequent visits, and what would improve it for them... investing in the rock garden, and more wild space!

um, So you're in this park today? Do you ever use Longford Park? So Longford Park is our regular homes. We really, really love Longford Park. It's been somewhere that we've taken the kids to, um, extremely regularly for years for the years that we've lived there. Yeah

And what is it that you love about it? It's really big. There's loads of different play areas, the different aged kids. Um, there space for running

There's loads of space for our dog. And there's a great cafe. There's a really lovely pets like animal area, which I have to admit we don't use that much, but we do love when we go

Um, and, yeah, there's just loads of different areas within it. So it's a really flexible place to go, um, with, you know, every every member of the family. Um, and is there anything if we were to invest in the park, is there anything that was different that you'd like to see happen there? Um, I guess keep keep the flexible like spaces that were, You know, there's lots of things to do, but I wonder if it it could do with feeling a bit wilder and a bit truer to nature because it's quite like manicured in areas

Um, and I guess it would be nicer to feel like you can look at the horizon and feel like you're in nature. I suppose the bit that that makes me the the bit that makes makes us feel like we're more at one with nature is the Rye Bank fields area, which is just wilder and more overgrown. And I think it would be lovely if there was an area like that in Longford Park

Um, the other area that I think could do with a bit of work would be the rock garden area, which is a really lovely space for the kids. Um, and I have no idea how, but it would be lovely to make more of that space, um, to make it work better, I suppose. For families, um, and the cafe is brilliant

It's just bigger. And just yeah, or maybe even have, like, a little offshoot van further around in the park because, um, where it is is not, I guess, the closest to all the bits of the park that we use. Which which which bits would you say you use the most

Probably the rock garden, actually, Um, and when the kids were smaller, the playground. But I don't think we use the playground that much anymore. And I guess it's just a marker of the kids getting a bit older now

So is there anything else you'd like to add? Not that I can think of. What about you? What do you like about the park? Do you like Longford Park? Well, thank you very much.
