In 2005 Juan Carlos had no prospects. He started a degree but dropped out due to economic problems in his family. He did vocational training but at the same time the economic crisis started so he wasn’t able to find any job. He had training but no experience.
One day his mother gave him the idea of working as a volunteer in a soup kitchen and he was afraid to see those people just in case he could not deal with so much sadness. When he arrived at the door he was nervous but saw one guy going out smiling and happy and decided to enter.
Nowadays he is coordinator on Friday afternoons at the soup kitchen and helps people by accompanying them to talk to social services.
