Dalry Woman and Cancer Survivor Suzanne Fernando accompanied
by her husband Kes, recently celebrated yet another annual 'Let's Meet'
in London with Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust.
The
support of our friends and family can play a key role in how we get
through being diagnosed and treatment. However, there is nothing quite
like talking to someone who is going through the same thing. One of Jo's
key aims is to provide women affected by cervical cancer with an
opportunity to meet others in similar situations. Once a year they
organise an event for women affected by cervical cancer called Let’s
Meet.
Let’s Meet is a one day information event which includes
a key note speaker, a series of workshops and time for attendees to
mingle and meet others affected. The day is free to attend.

with women who understand what you have been through gives you such a
sense of belonging and everyone is so welcoming and friendly."

Suzanne
is currently undergoing intensive training in preparation for setting
up a Cervical Cancer Support Group here in Ayrshire soon, something she
has had her heart set on doing for many years now.
