The current state of Stanley Front Street,County Durham, has prompted concerns from local people, due to its ghost town appearance.
Local residents were recently asked their views and some of the comments given were "It's a dump", "Looks awful", "Needs investment" and "People don't come here to shop anymore"
They were also asked what in their opinion could be done about it and their comments made include: :"Needs investment", "Lower rent and rates to attract businesses", "Council needs to prioritise Stanley over other areas", "Have more events on like farmers markets", "Repair to fire damaged properties", "Need more variety and bigger names", "Make all shops accessible to disabled shoppers", "More parking" and "Clearer idea of Stanley Town Council's Role"
Many people remember when Stanley was a thriving market town and hope to see those times return in the near future.
