KABAROLE: The Kabarole district chairperson Mr Richard Rwabuhinga has asked people who are living in the wetlands to peaceful vacate them saying that there is an increased encroachment of wetland in the district.

Rwabuhinga was on Friday speaking at the National Resistance Movement (NRM) celebration for Kabarole district that were held at Kigarama primary school playground in Kiko town council, he said there is need to conserve the environment especially forests.

He said it is the reason why the district has experienced a lot of drought is that they have continuously endangered the environment adding that as a result receiving rain fall in future may be no more.

The Kabarole Resident District commissioner Mr Steven Asiimwe asked the local leaders at all levels to work hard to see the people in the communities get services for better development.

The theme this year was “Uganda’s Liberation, a significant contribution to our present and future development”.
