Mash talks to Anja

Hi there. Hi. I wonder if you could tell me a little bit about, uh, your experiences of Longford Park and what you think about it? Well, I was introduced to Longford Park when I first moved to Manchester about 7.5 years ago

And my partner and I used to walk around it, um, on our way to We used to pass through it then, but I really became familiar with it When my daughter was born, I used to take her there as a baby. We used to go on the swings. I used to take her to the cafe for lunch with friends

I have jogged around the park and I've done the the five k with my daughter in the pram. We've had picnics there. We've gone to both of the play parks

And so the kiddy play park And then the grown up, the more grown up play park where the zip wires and everything. Um so, yeah, I had a really lovely experience of Longford Park. That's great

Are there things that you think could be improved about the park at all? I think maybe access to more toilets might be handy because there aren't very many, and it really depends on whether the cafe is open as to whether you can find a place to go to the toilet, Um, maybe extend the play area because often there's so many Children there that it's difficult to actually get in, get on everything anything, and your child has to wait to get a turn on the swings, the slide, et cetera. Um, I've never noticed a problem with any litter or anything, so I don't think anything that sort needs to be improved. And what about the other sort of particular areas in the park with this golf for the, um, all the pets corner, um, are the place Are there places you've used or or not? Yeah, I've taken my daughter to Pets Corner

She's loved looking at the goats and the rabbits and the chickens. I haven't accessed disc golf, but I have seen people play it, and it looks really good fun. And it is an area that I have actually walked through and hidden kind of some tree areas with my daughter

We've had a few snacks in the in the trees under the trees, but I've never played disc golf and, uh, yeah. Do you think? Yeah. Are Are there any particular things that, um, young people might like in the park? That's not there as your daughter gets older, do you think? Have you got any ideas for that? Um, I'm not sure

Maybe there could be some more like activities that could be set up in the part that people can pay a small fee to get involved with. Um, off the top of my head. I can't think of any kind of activity that could be created, but I'm sure there must be something

Um, maybe to make more use of the of the big green fields, um, on either side of the park. I know lots of people go and they build snowmen. They go for picnics

There are people that will often gather in the summertime and sit and relax and have little gatherings and parties with friends and family members. Um, so maybe something else could be set up there, maybe organising some festivals or some kind of, um, events where more people could get involved in the park and maybe pay a fee. And the contributions could go towards creating something for the park

Something something different, Something extra. Great. Ok, thanks very much

Thanks..
