Cherry blossom in garden

Today the cherry blossom flowered in my garden. For me, it's the first proper sign of Spring. I love the fact that it is so delicate and fragile and yet brave enough to come out, when the weather is still cold and unpredictable. We planted this tree when we moved into the house 6 years ago. We've not been very good at pruning it, so it's grown in its own higgledy-piggledy way. I think of it as having a rebellious spirit.

As I become more aware of climate change and its impact, I wonder how much longer we will have the certainty of seasons. What will Spring look like in Manchester in 2030, 2050, 2070? Will this tree still be here as my son grows up? Will the cherry blossom still come in the Spring?
