Have you thought about the future and what it may hold for you?

It is important to think ahead in life and what will ultimately happen (ie your death) and arrangements you want; not only in regard to your funeral, but also thinking about preparing a will and getting all your affairs in order.

A lot of people do not want to even think about any of this, including myself, but it is very important for your own peace of your mind and that of your relatives and friends.

In my own case some 12 years ago my father passed away and as far as I am aware no-one in my family including myself asked him about his dying wishes as it felt too uncomfortable for us.  At the time he had cancer (for two years) and even when he had mental capacity for most of this time none of us broached the subject.

I think that was probably the last thing on our minds as we were struggling with his illness and how devastating it was. We were just on a roller-coaster, my father was constantly in and out of Wythenshawe hospital having operation after operation, never knowing when the cancer would return and hoping and praying for a miracle cure.

I definitely think in regards to your own last wishes that you need to put things in place sooner rather than later, preferably when relatively young and ideally in good health and then you can have peace of mind, knowing that a very sensitive and upsetting topic does not really need to be talked about again.
