Over twenty years ago I visited Madras Tamil Nadu Southern
India and purchased a superb carved 'Raging Bull' made from one piece of
Rosewood that stands over two feet high, three feet long and eighteen
inches wide. The whole carving sits on a highly polished wooden base
approximately the same size as the bull and acquired from the Victorian
Technical Institute who arranged shipping to the UK. I received all the
corresponding documentation and kept track of its route which ironically
involved docking at Singapore
before eventually, after about six months, arrived at Barton Dock Salford but
was advised that the sculpture could then be sawn in half according to
drugs  regulations. Thank goodness it wasn't and I went to collect about a
week later. Hopefully this carving will be on display at the Antiques Roadshow
at Manchester Town Hall on Monday 4th April
2011.
