Yesterday Saturday 21st june 2014 in the blistering heat marked the first of erith parks projects the dell and eco park for both wildlife and people handed over to the core group and the residents of erith park it started with an opening and cutting of the gold ribbon by bexleys mayor and mayoress with speeches from Andy Hobart managing director of Wates and Maggie McCann of orbit homes.
Then the residents partied the day with resident DJ Tracey kember (me) entertainment and games and special visitors in the dell the fox and the otter,tall will bubble man the goblins and our resident Fairies Teresa Hallett and Chris Carey who lead a treasure hunt in finding animals in the dell the erith park core group assisted in the event as stewards with wates and orbit and was organised by a small commitee consisting of myself steve kenworthy gavin taylor rita hanfrey rosemary white and francois jensen.
tours of the first home and benchmark flat was available led by Lawrence Baxter and then the core group unveiled the sculpture designed by will jorden we also had free hotdogs cheeseburgers and strawberries and ice cream and refreshments supplied by McDonalds Erith. we even had a surprise visit from our community reporter tutor Teresa Wilson who interviewed the volunteers on why they like working in the community. I also did a presentation on community reporters and on the Litter picks and the transformation of the old dell to the new dell.
