n memory of Evelyn House resident Arthur Barnes who sadly passed away last month.

.

I first met Arthur when I joined Orbit 5 years ago. My first impression was someone who genuinely cared about his neighbours, and I soon realised this extended to other Orbit residents, with Arthur showing a real keenness to help improve the services they received from the Association.

He was a founder member of the Resident Engagement Focus Group and in 2011 he became part of the South Scrutiny Panel.

Arthur was always constructive in his comments and it was clear he thought long and hard about whether his suggestion would benefit everyone.

In Arthur, I met a funny, kind, caring man who generously gave up some of his spare time to volunteer with Orbit and ultimately help others.

I know how very much his fellow volunteers will miss Arthur as will I. Here is a tribute from one of Arthur’s fellow Scrutiny Panel members Samir Araffa;

A VERY SAD DAY FOR EVERYONE WHO KNEW ARTHUR BARNES, WHO PASSED AWAY.

I HAVE KNOWN ARTHUR FOR TWO YEARS, HE WAS THE MOST GENTLE MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN, CARING, LOVING, HONEST AND KIND.

HE DEVOTED HIS TIME TO WORK ALONG SIDE ORBIT FOR THE RESIDENTS, MAKING SURE HIS VOICE WAS HEARD, HE WORKED VERY HARD IN EVERY GROUP HE JOINED, COMMITTING HIMSELF 100%

HE MADE SURE ALL ORBIT RESIDENTS RECEIVED THE BEST SERVICE, HE WAS HIGHLY RESPECTED FROM ALL THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM FROM TOP LEVEL OF ORBIT DIRECTORS, MANAGERS AND ALL THE STAFF AND MOST OF ALL THE RESIDENTS AND THE PEOPLE HE WORKED WITH.

ITS SO SAD TO KNOW HE HAS GONE, LETS PRAY TO GOD TO REST HIM IN PEACE AND ARTHUR MY GOOD FRIEND I AND ALL OF US WILL REMEMBER YOU FOR AS LONG WE LIVE.
