Changes in allotment legislation
The government are planning to drop legislation that compels local authorities to create allotment for those that need them.
People don’t understand the importance of this legislation. Currently there is a law that allows people to petition the local authority to provide an allotment if there is not enough allotment provision for people to grow their own. There has to be at least 6 people, who are rate payers in a specific locality.
