Cussons's factory many years ago employed thousands and thousands of people and was a thriving business. The building was demolished about eight years ago and the business transferred to a smaller site. Since then, the old site has been left neglected. When it is windy, all the dust blows down our road and cars and houses are left filthy dirty.
In 2012 there was a meeting at our local library (Salford Sports Village) and shown plans for houses and low level apartments to be built there.
The site is now an even worse nightmare, as nothing at all has happened.
I love my local library at Salford Sports Village, they have computers for general use, and the librarians are so helpful. The library also hosts many events and courses which I go to.
One really memorable event was a performance by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra.
It was absolutely fantastic.
