Recently the Adult Learners' Week Awards 2011 was held to celebrate the success of adult learners across Salford. They awarded adults who are engaged in learning across Salford through the college, training providers or community learning providers. Awards were presented to learners who, in the past, have overcome difficult circumstances or have had challenging journeys to access new skills.

Kevin Eccleston, a Community Reporter from Salford was lucky enough to be presented with one of these awards, he came Commended for being Salfords 'Community Champion'.

Kevin told us, “I was over the moon when they announced I had been given this award, I feel it’s a great achievement for me and I’m very proud to have been awarded at such a big awards event.”

Kevin has recently passed a ‘PTLLS’ Course at Salford City College, all of his hard work has shown to have been paid off, as this is what led him to be nominated for the ‘Community Champions Award’.

Well Done Kevin, everybody here at People’s Voice Media are highly pleased with all of your hard work that you have put into Community Reporting over the years, and this is a brilliant achievement.
