Brenda here again!! How many travel by trains? I regularly use Northern Trains to visit family. Today, 14th Nov I travelled by train using the 6.47am from Harrogate. The journey was going well until we reached Green Hammerton. The train stopped. Been Deaf I had no idea what was going on. I asked a passenger. They explained probs with the signals at Poppleton. I went to the Conductor explained I'm Deaf and wondered what going on. To my horror the Conductor explained we can't progress forward because the staff who should be in work to operate the signal box at Poppleton had failed to turn in. This caused unneccessary delays. Feel frustrated. Your not alone!! The Conductor was brilliant reassured passengers phoned East Coast so people travelling to London/Edinburgh who missed their train had reassurance they can use the next one. I was appalled. I have complained to Northern Rail. Posted on Facebook!! The whole World can see!!
Last week another issue. Northern rail again! Engineering works from Harrogate to Leeds. No prob. I checked trains were running to York all day. They were fine. Wait for it!!! It left 3 mins late. Not a huge issue. On my return from York saw the 15.11 was cancelled. I went to Customer service. Very unhelpful just said it rail replacement. I told them I was told trains are running all day!! Anyhow, asked staff organising Rail replacement. Very helpful explained this is emergency rail replacement as the 6.52am train de railed at Knaresborough. Luckily no one was injured!!
Recently my station had loads of refurbishments. Very nice. Prob, where was the Porta loo while the Lavatories were brefurbished?! Never appeared for 2/3 months!! Shocking!.
