18th August 1973 -
On this day John and I married, sadly neither my mother or father where there as they had sadly passed away some years earlier. But John's parents were there which was lovely. My sister, her husband and their two children had come all the way from Canada to be there and my brother and his wife came from Chorley along with their little girl.
We were married at St Martin Church in Baguley, Wythenshawe in Greater Manchester as this was where John and his family lived. After the wedding ceremony we went to the Lantern Inn down the road to have our wedding reception.
I wore a traditional white wedding dress which cost me the grand sum of £25.00 (a lot in those days) with head dress and John wore a dark brown suit. It was a lovely day and the most important day of my life.
