Man discusses efficacity of online booking system and challenges around ordering repeat prescriptions.

Yeah, right. Uh, can you tell me a little bit about your experiences of using GP services over the past six months? Yeah. OK, um, I have used it a few times when I've been ill, and, um, it's it's pretty good, Really. Like, I, uh, send send an email

Um, and normally that day, somebody gets back with, you know, either coming in for an appointment or, you know, it's nothing to worry about. Or, you know, I'm I'm always happy with with the outcome, really, of what the doctors do, and I use it to order my repeat prescriptions, which is, um, which is, like, better. Like I don't know

I used to have to go down to the chemist was one option, or I could set it up monthly, but because some of my medication I have to If I exercise, I have to take more of it. So I don't I don't always need it monthly, so it works out much better. I can just email the doctor and say, I need this, this and this and I don't need that or whatever

And um, yeah, it's Yeah, it's pretty good. Wonderful. So when you're saying when you email the doctor

Is that the GP directly or is it the surgery? And then someone philtres it, Um, it's It's the the surgery website. And you like you, you fill in what your like issue is, and then you can request somebody by name, like one of the doctors, or you can just say anybody and sometimes the, um, the manager will do it. Um, but it's normally it's normally one of the doctors who does it

I I don't specify a doctor. I just say, like anybody can do it And, uh, yeah, brilliant. And do you find you get, um So you mentioned that sometimes when you email in because you've got a an illness, um, someone usually gets back to you within the day

Um, And have you been offered in-person appointments or have there been remote appointments? Um, I I have I had, like, a something that seemed like it might have been, like, quite serious if, like, a few months ago. And, um, I messaged it, and he just put on the come in, make an appointment as soon as you can. Um, yeah

I mean, he's always, like, quite brief. You know, Like what he says because he's he's busy. He's just like he doesn't, like, write a letter, You know what I mean? It's just like, yeah, come in

Um, so yeah. No, he he he got back really quick, and it ended up being nothing really brilliant. And so, um, when you go into the surgery, does it feel safe and, like, it always has done a pre pandemic? Or has there been any differences? Um, well, when I, uh, when I went in, um, the it was it was there was only me in the you know, So they're obviously trying to keep people away, So, yeah, I felt I felt safe in the, um They used to have the door locked, you know, and it was really bad, but they've they the door is open now, but they just doing motor appointments via via the service

Yeah. Brilliant. And have you had any appointments via the phone or via, um, a video? Um, not via video

He, um I have had one over the phone. I can't I can't remember what it was for, but yeah, it was a little while ago. I had I had one over the phone? Uh, yeah, I think he had, Um it was OK

Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's a good doctor. Um, some people don't like him because he's he's a bit abrupt and stuff, but I I he's good at his job, and I don't mind him, but yeah, no, it was fine

It was It was OK. Brilliant. Thank you

Um, is there anything else that you'd like to share about your GP practise? Um, well, even though I said everything's fine, the the one thing that, um, sometimes doesn't work is because I'm I'm on, like, three medications. And, um, if I say I need new repeat prescriptions, like and I I like, um I need this this and this the it happened. Probably like three times in a row where they they just forgot one of my medications

And they've obviously just looked at what I had last time and set them them through. But it's like it can be like, I really need it. You know, if I've if I've not not got any, um, that's Yeah

So that happened, like, three times in a row. And I think it's just name me. Repeat prescription

They look on the system and see what we had last time and sent them out. You know, if they're Yeah, yeah. So you know, there's there's room for error there, isn't there, But if they make a mistake, they're always Oh, we're really sorry

We push it through for you and then they have it like the next day. It's never that bad. And so what's your process for alerting them to that mistake? Um, literally

When I go to the chemist to pick up my medication like I'll, I'll always check it. And if it's not there, the GP is like 20 yards around the corner. So I'll just pop in and tell them and then they'll go

Oh, right, OK, we'll we'll get it pushed straight through. And, uh, yeah, yeah. And yeah, I've never had a problem

Really, I said, the onus is on you, though, to kind of double check that and keep on top of it. Yeah. Yeah, well, when? When? When it's happened

Like just because I know like if if if I run out, it could it could be like serious. I just thought like and when it happened 11 time, I thought Well, better just check that it doesn't happen again. And yeah, and it happened twice

Two other times. And that does sound really frustrating. Yeah, well done for spotting it, though

Um, anything else that you'd like to mention? Um, no, I can't really think of anything, to be honest. No, No. OK, that's great

Thanks for your time..
