As a volunteer at Salford Disability Forum I support Geoff Fletcher who is the Co-ordinator for the Deaf Blind Network. I first got involved with the group when Geoff asked me to contact the members to see if they were able to attend the monthly meeting.

I have got to know all the members and i enjoy their company. I myself suffer with a disability which gives me an understanding of the members needs.

The treasurer of the group was arranging a Ten Pin Bowling Trip to the Trafford Centre and asked me if i would like to go along with the group. Dennis said I could be another pair of eyes and ears to help out.

At Christmas the group go out for dinner to a restaurant and I was invited to that. Geoff came to my home to pick me up and then dropped me off when we had finished.

At the meeting each month Geoff tries to arrange a speaker on a variety of subjects such as The Police and Helping Hands these are for August and September meetings.

One of our members is blind and has a guide dog called Chester he attends each meeting with his owner Joan.
