Hello Everyone,

Are you all well and enjoying the good weather? I've been a Community Reporter about 3 years. Really enjoy it. How many Deaf people have used the Non emergency Police 101 number? Frustrated? Join the campaign, thousands more Deaf people are too!!! 2 years ago a group of us started campaigning for equal access for the Non emergency Police 101 number to be accessible via text messages from our mobile. We want to be treated equally same as hearing people. If hearing people see a non emergency crime they ring the Police and report. If we see a non emergency crime we have to wait until we get home and use our text phone through Next Generation Text Relay. However, small progress been made. the 101 service is due for renewal in March 2016 and the Home Office will shortly be commencing work on this service!!! Watch this Space!!  There is a Text Relay number for Hate crime through NGT. You can also download an app via a smartphone for the Hate crime number via textrelay and through your computer.

Look forward to reading your views.
