On Wednesday 4th May Big Life Centres hosted a Networking Event at The Willow Tree Centre on Littleton Road. We took the opportunity to call in and find out what’s going on in the area and spread the word about our own services.

Running from 13.30 – 15.30 the centre was thriving, giving organisations and indeed anybody working on activities or projects locally the chance to share ideas and information.

The event used a fun, informal ‘speed dating’ approach to allow everybody to introduce themselves to each other and find out what other services were being represented, before chance to discuss how different projects and organisations may collaborate.

Afternoon tea and cakes were provided and proved popular, as well as the clothes swap (featured in the Spring issue of our ‘essence’ newsletter) which was present as always on the first Wednesday of each month at The Willow Tree.

Gaynor Hassall, the centre’s development worker, told us she organises the Networking Event quarterly, hoping it will bring together and link up different groups working within the community.

We’ll keep you posted with details of the next one!
