Brenda Haw from North Yorkshire. How many people who have a physical Disability/ disability/able bodied feel frustrated by their local Bus Company? You are not alone!! One of our local Bus Companies Connexions from Green Hammerton North Yorkshire the drivers attitude appalling. So rude. You ask them where the bus is for eg:: A reply. I'm driving this Bus!!! Then buses delayed. Buses pulling into Bays drivers getting off not informing passengers the bus has a fault and another bus will be in shortly. Didn't say different bay. When I got on the replacement bus told driver saw driver get off didn't say there is a prob with this bus. Reply, I can't pulling in Bay 5 as bus already in> Yes, but wouldn't communication help?!!! Come on. It's passengers keeping you in a Job. I was once on a Connexions Bus a Wheelchair user approached wanting to get on the bus. Driver refused. I was horrified. Thought, that discrimation. As a campaigner for disabled rights I took it to our group. We are now awaiting the Manager/Manager Director to come too our group explaining about why the wheelchair user was refused. They say they haven't got electric ramps/ramps for wheelchair users. They should have. We are in the 20th centuary with a very powerful DDA Disability Discrimanation act!! Anyhow, we await feedback from Connexions Company Manager director/Manager. Will update!!
