A regular event has been established in the Boroughbridge area for anyone who wants to sing or play music in an informal setting.

'Ure Music' promotes community music making in the area, and on the fourth Friday of each month a music evening is held. There is usually a different theme each month, recent evenings have included
'Songs from the Shows', 'West Gallery Music', and 'Yorkshire Folk Songs'.

Admission is free, but there is a collection held at the end of each evening, and the proceeds distributed to a different charity each month. These have included Hope and Homes, Alne Hall Cheshire Home,
JennyRuth Workshops, and Ripon Community Link.
Refreshments are available during the interval, and anyone is welcome to come along to sing, play or just to listen!

The next Friday Night will be 28th September 2012 at 7.30pm, to be held at St Mary's Church, Lower Dunsforth. The Theme will be 'Come and Sing or Play Your Favourite Hymns'. The collection will be for Macmillan Cancer Support.  Details of all evenings can be found at www.uremusic.org.uk
