A fair number of friends of mine stood either as potential Councilors or M.Ps and in some bases both, unfortunately none of them gained the necessary votes to get elected. Having spoken to a number of them since the 7th they indicated that they had all found it relatively hard but well worth while. One friend stood against George Osborne and actually shared a debating platform with him, her comments about him were that he was fine as long as the questions were pre arranged but if he was asked to something off the agenda he struggled to provide a coherent or satisfactory answer.

The friends who had stood on behalf of the Green party all saw the percenatge of votes in the relevant areas increase.

Whilst not having altered the political scene they all felt it had been worthwhile and I believe would do it again in any future local or national elections.
