As the course was advertised on social media, Mike picked it up on his news feed and contacted Matt, the course leader and tutor.
He rang Matt, leaving a message, he was interested but couldn't contact him for a week, as he was on his way to Switzerland with his family!
On the first day of the course, Mike didn't make it as his car refused to start. He did however manage to catch up during the week!
Mike already had a background in report and letter writing from his work with Manchester Council.
One difference on this course, Mike says, is that there is a definite 'Green Theme', which works in well with his interests of music, reading, politics and green issues.
Mike hopes that the course will lead to more opportunities for social interaction in line with his interests.
