Are there really Fairies at Beamish woods???? Some local residents believe so, whilst others say its all a fairy tale.
At around 7am yesterday local resident Brian Turner was walking his dog through the woods, this was their usual daily routine, however this was no ordinary walk.
For the 2nd week we heard from cyclists, dog walkers and joggers of mysterious sightings at Beamish. Last Wednesday cyclist Mary Young dismounted her bike as something caught her eye. Mary told us " I jumped off my bike and had to see it with my own eyes" "I've heard the rumors, Everyone has. There was glitter in the distance, sparkles behind the trees and I could feel magic in the air. Then I saw them".
Brian says "Chappy just wandered off, he started to bark. This was unusual behavior for him so I was intrigued to see what had disturbed him, what I saw next will stay with me forever, " an array of Fairies, in every colour imaginable, they were dancing on toad stools and leaping from leaf to leaf. They sang an enchanting and magical sound".
This is certainly not the 1st and I believe will not be the last we hear or see of these mysterious magical sightings. Maybe one day all who visit will see the singing, dancing fairies of Beamish Woods.
